ENOUGH IS ENOUGH FOR TERRORISM
The act of terrorism under the disguise of religious extremism as we are currently witnessing in #Pakistan, #Kenya, #Nigeria and elsewhere in the world where such violence and atrocity is being committed against the people of other faiths and beliefs, should be highly condemned by all people irrespective of their religious affiliations.
The lack of human conscience and the fear of God in the reckless and brutal nature of killings and distractions of lives and property by any form of extremism lacks any moral justifications and the perpetrators of this enormous and despicable crime against God and humanity should not be spared when brought to face judgment.
It is my humble opinion that the respective governments of those affected countries should rise to the challenges of insecurity raging their lands and do more to guarantee safety for their citizens anytime any day.
Also, citizens should play their own parts as well in supporting the governments efforts to counter terrorism and fight off the wolves in our midst rather than being fooled by the idiots and their unscrupulous and disgruntled supporters to sabotage efforts and measures taken by governments to free our lands of these evil forces of darkness by showing sympathy to these sheep in wolves clothing who have sneaked in to scatter us apart and attack and kill us as they wish.
It is very disturbing to hear that a person or a group of persons would arm himself/themselves and go to a place of worship, markets, parks, airports, railway stations, malls, schools and other public buildings or gatherings and shamelessly and unscrupulously unleash their shameful, foolish and evil acts against the innocent worshipers of God and civilians without the fear of God or even their very conscience pricking them all in the name of religion. What a shame and a sin against God and humanity! The wicked shall never go unpunished...Amen
May the souls of the innocent victims of any atrocious act of the wicked ones continue to find eternal rest while those who commit this unfortunate, atrocious and condemnable crime against God and their fellow human beings, have no peace at all...not even when they've died...Amen.

Yesterday was exactly 26 years when a beautiful land was carved out of the then old Cross River State and she was named Akwa Ibom State because she was found surrounded by Qua Iboe Rivers and behold, it was a perfect name for a young state full of promises and Uyo was chosen as her capital.
The land of my birth, 'The Promised Land' as she's also known as, is blessed with both natural and human resources. The state has abundance of crude oil reserve and is arguably the number one oil and gas producing state in Nigeria.
Apart from the crude oil, the state is also blessed with numerous of other natural and mineral resources such as palm oil, cocoa, plantain, banana, cassava and palm wine plantations to mention but a few. And the people of the state are industrious and hard working people who love fishing and farming as well as education and are known for their generous hospitality and delicious foods and delicacies that would make you tour the beautiful land over and over again.
She's also a great dancer and is blessed with intelligent and pretty damsels admired all over the world whose brilliant dance steps would remind you of their gracious, generous and beautiful mother. Apart from those quality characteristics that they're associated with, the daughters of Akwa Ibom are also known as good and lovable cooks in such a way that if you eat their meals, oh my goodness! Your wife at home will be tempted to think you've been fed with 'ibok ima' or 'kup no mi' (a love potion) believed to have a magical power that makes someone forget their lovers immediately after eating it and start liking the one who gives them...lol
And the official languages for the people of Akwa Ibom State are: Ibibio, Annang and English and can also speak Efik, the language spoken by the Cross Riverians, their first cousins.
She also has great and respectable sons including me and my numerous honourable brothers but the one ringing the bell at the moment, can also be called the man of the moment.
Having found himself favoured as the fourth son of the soil and the third elected civilian governor to pilot the affairs of the state, His Excellency, Governor Godswill Akpabio has transformed the state to an enviable height. He's been doing fantastically well for the state in the sense that a state that nothing or little was heard about in the past administrations is now reckoned among the fewer states in the country where dividends of good governance is very transparent to the point that her neighbours and lovers of good things speak in glowing terms about her son's remarkable achievements. The infrastructural developments in the state alone will convince you that the governor is working assiduously to carry everyone along in his administration.
But as humans, short comings are always inevitable, and it's our prayers that our dear governor continues in his transforming agendas and keep transforming Akwa Ibom State to that dreamed and desired state of perfection; and may God bless and guide anyone who comes after him...Amen.
And if you would like the state to favour you one day to manage any of her affairs in any capacity, just tell God to bless the writer of this article. Thank you!
Happy 26th anniversary celebration my fellow Akwaibomites! Happy birthday to all who share their birthday with the state! Long live Akwa Abasi Ibom State, long live His Excellency, Governor Godswill Akpabio and long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria. God bless Nigeria and Africa!

COULD CAF AND FIFA BE WORKING HAND IN HAND TO CHEAT NIGERIA. . .
The senior national team of Nigeria have moved one place up in the latest Fifa Africa ranking but dropped from the previous 35th position they held to 36th in the latest world ranking despite winning all their matches of the month under review.
The best five football playing nations in Africa following Thursday's release of Fifa world ranking are: Cote d' Ivoire, Ghana, Algeria, Nigeria and Mali.
It took us good eight months to finally climb above Mali in any of the Fifa Africa rankings, a side Nigeria thrashed so well in the last competitive meeting when the two sides clashed in the semifinal of the Africa Cup of Nations last February in Durban, South Africa.
And again, Ghana who ranked 24th in the world and have been occupying the 2nd spot in Africa despite the fact that they too have lost matches since we won AFCON can not be said to have done better than Nigeria in the past eight months. Even Cote d' Ivoire at the summit of the African ranking and 19th in the world have also suffered some form of loss at our hands earlier this year during a quarterfinal clash at AFCON as the game ended 2-1 in favour of Nigeria.
What is so annoying is the fact that Algeria who didn't take part in the last edition of AFCON are ranked ahead of the champions of Africa both in the Africa ranking and the world's as they occupy 3rd and 28th spots respectively.
It is important to note that under Stephen Keshi Nigeria have only lost twice and both happened at the Fifa Confederations Cup in Brazil over two months ago when the African champions lost 2-1 to Uruguay and the world and European champions, Spain. Nigeria lost those matches not because they didn't play well but because they lacked prolific finishers in front of goal at that time as brilliant, skillful and creative Victor Moses and powerful and reliable Emmanuel Emenike were all exempted from the Nigerian squad for that tournament due to injury.
In view of the incessant and unjust understimation and other form of misjudgment about the performances of the Super Eagles of Nigeria and our players by the concerned football organisations, it should be recommended that the NFF should sit up and take a critical look at this unfortunate scenario and call both FIFA and CAF to explain the criteria they use in ranking Nigeria in the Fifa rankings and rating our players for glo CAF awards. God bless our Africa!

If You Are Still Pining For The Return Of Fergie, How Much Would You Pine For Rooney? Better Prepare Because The "Special One Was Only Trying Something Special...You Want To Know It?
It is believed Jose Mourinho tactically opted for the style of football his side played against David Moyes' side last night at Old Trafford in a "boring" barren draw fixture of the Premier League - first of such clash this season among the top four clubs in the league so that the fans of Manchester United won't mourn forever and keep pining for the return of Fergie instead of letting him be.... He was only trying to engineer a peaceful scenario for the striker he has been trying to sign this summer to smoothly switch to Chelsea without causing much upsets for the home supporters.
I am only trying to let the United fans know that it's not every penalty that can be scored!
It's so annoying hearing them bitterly complaining every now and then about the "penalty that was not given"...that they could have won the barren draw Premier League's clash between their team and Chelsea last night at Old Trafford" forgetting that they would have touched the tiger's tail which would have been very very bad for them.
I think referee Atkinson should have given a penalty to Manchester United following Frank Lampard's handball incident when he unintentionally blocked Tom Cleverley's shot inside the 18 yard box of Chelsea - Which I think, Wayne Rooney would have volunteered to take it and would have blasted it wide off the post because of the pressure to impress both the away team who wants to buy him and the club who pays his wages or just may be the penalty could have been saved by Petr Cech, who knows?
If that was the case, by now, the pain of Wayne Rooney's missed penalty by the United supporters, the talk of it and what the media would have made out of it alone would have turned up the heat on the wanted striker to force his formal transfer request away from the Old Trafford with an immediate effect to enable him switch to Chelsea.
And had that happened too, the talking point by now would have been: "Wayne Rooney having officially handed in his transfer request to Manchester United, there's absolutely no point keeping an unhappy player who wants to leave."
So, there's every reason for United fans to thank Atkinson for not awarding them the penalty, it could have been detrimental.

The 'Special One', One Of The Wisest Managers That The World Of Football Has Ever Produced
The manager of Chelsea Football Club of England Jose Mourinho, has dismissed David Moyes' accusation that he the 'Special One' had unsettled the unhappy Manchester United and England forward, Wayne Rooney.
Mourinho whose Chelsea side faces Moyes' side at Old Trafford in tonight's Premier League first top four clash of the season, argued that it was rather the Scot who unsettled Rooney by giving him the role of a second fiddle to the Dutch striker, Robin van Persie when he officially assumed duty as the new manager of the club.
However, Mourinho suggested that the old mentality of not wanting to sell players to clubs from the same league ought to be changed because it does not contribute positively to the league neither does it help the affected players.
“That old-fashioned mentality of ‘I don’t sell players to clubs in the same country’ I think doesn’t help the market,” Mourinho said.
“It doesn’t help the players and sometimes you push players to play abroad when you should be interested in keeping the players to play in your league because when you keep players in your league you are contributing to making your league the best league. So when you want to sell and you push the players abroad I think you are giving the wrong contribution to the league.”
Mourinho suggested it was not in United’s interests to keep an “unhappy” player. “We had Robben unhappy, we sold him to Real Madrid because he wanted so much to go to Real Madrid. We had William Gallas unhappy, we sold William Gallas to Arsenal,” he said of his first spell at Chelsea although he added that “every case” was different.
Apart from that Chelsea have sold Daniel Sturridge to Liverpool who is doing very well for them since the move.
Meanwhile, Wayne Rooney is likely to start tonight's game against a side that has not given up just yet trying to sign him this summer as Mourinho has been insisting a new bid will be made for the striker after tonight's clash even though David Moyes has been adamant that the forward will not be sold in this window transfer period.
Should the "old-fashioned mentality that discourages clubs from selling their best players to their fellow league's clubs be changed?

A Port Harcourt-based bishop was, on Tuesday paraded before the media by the Rivers State police command for allegedly raping an underaged girl.
A Port Harcourt-based bishop (names withheld) was paraded before the newsmen yesterday by the Rivers State police command for allegedly raping a 15-year old girl.
The Cleric, although admitted having a carnal knowledge of the underaged teenager, said he was hypnotized as well as set up by a fellow bishop.
He said his ordeal was a calculated attempt by another bishop in whose office the incident transpired, adding that plot to ensnare and embarrass him was borne out of an envy by a brother bishop who had been dragging the office of the chairmanship of all bishops in the state, a post he (the accused bishop) currently occupied.
The accused also denied reports that he assisted in aborting the pregnancy that resulted from the immoral act with the teenager, alleging that it was the girl’s father who did the abortion, while he, the bishop, paid for the cost.
“We have different colleges of bishops. I am the chairman of Communion of Bishops in Rivers State. Well, what actually happened was a set-up. It was set up by my enemies. I have so many people who are my enemies. The man who is in-charge of where I went tominister is my enemy. He is the person that set me up.
“He invited me to his church for a programme. And, after the programme, he set me up because of what we are dragging. We are dragging chairmanship of the communion and that was why he set me up.
“I was surprised when I saw her pulling off her skirt and others. But, before you knew it, I had a carnal knowledge of her. That is the truth of the matter.
“She started laughing at me. She said ‘are you angry?’ I told her that I did not know what she had hypnotized me for. She said I should not bother. I was so angry and annoyed that I called some of my pastors and made a confession that I did not know what was happening,” he said
The Cleric, although admitted having a carnal knowledge of the underaged teenager, said he was hypnotized as well as set up by a fellow bishop.

Maradona: Brazil Would Not Have Beaten Spain On Neutral Ground
The 52-year old Argentina legend believes that Brazil wouldn't have beaten Spain in the final of the just concluded Fifa Confederations Cup hosted by Brazil had the match been played at a neutral venue.
The European and world champions were convincingly beaten 3-0 at the Maracana Stadium, thanks to a brace from Fred and the last goal from no other person than Neymar himself when he brilliantly combined with the skillful Oscar before cleverly pulling back himself from a suspected off-side position and then superbly slammed a toe-pass from the Chelsea star into the right side of the post. But the 52-year-old feels the hostile environment affected Vicente del Bosque's men.
"Spain were unlucky that the tournament was being played in Brazil. They looked promising. Brazil wouldn't have beaten them had the game been played on neutral ground," he told reporters on a visit to Indonesia.
The Napoli former playmaker then went on to hip praises on Lionel Messi and stressed that the Barcelona star is still a cut above Neymar and Cristiano Ronaldo.
"Messi remains the best in the world. He is still a better player than Neymar and Cristiano Ronaldo."
Maradona also had something to say about the 2014 World Cup in Brazil and he is hopeful that Argentina can emerge victorious in that tournament.
"Next year's World Cup belongs to South Americans. I hope Argentina will be crowned champions," he added.
Following this outbursts from Maradona, one can always sense there will surely be some sort of reaction from Pele since the two men sometimes seem to be highly overwhelmed by high sense of sentiments and emotions when it comes to star players coming from their respective homelands.
Surely, it's only a matter of time before we start hearing the Pele' own version of the counter outbursts!

There's been a deadly attack at Woolwich Barracks in south-east London near the Prime Minister's of office. According to reports, two men armed with knives, meat cleaver and other weapons attacked a man believed to be a serving soldier, hacked him to death, dragged his body into the middle of the road and then asked people standing by to film them. The two attackers were gunned down by policemen who arrived the scene 20 minutes later following a phone call. One was air lifted and said to be in a critical condition while the other was carried by road ambulance; the two arebeing treated in a new by local hospital. The Home Secretary, Theresa May, who had summoned a government's emergency meeting to discuss the incident described the attackas "sickening and barbaric" while the British Prime Minister, David Cameron who had been planning to spend a night in Paris after a meeting with the French President had returned home to take part of the government's emergency meeting known as Cobra following the horrendous incident. The Prime Minister while in France also described it as sickening and appalling and vowed that the nation will never buckle under such attacks. The terrorists who killed in retribution for Muslim deaths made some political statements after the killing, and the footage shown on the ITV website shows a man, dressed in a grey hooded jacket with bloody hands also with a knife and meat cleaver, saying: "We must fight them as they fightus. An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth." He added: "I apologise that women have had to witness this today, but in our land our women have to see the same. You people willnever be safe. Remove your government, theydon't care about you." On Twitter, the Mayor of London Boris Johnson described the attack as a"sickening deluded and unforgivable act of violence". Eye witnesses say that this guys were crazed and behaved like animals as they were seemed to be obliviousto a lot of things except only being interested in having their actions recorded.
Life is full of surprises, sometimes it works according to your plans, sometimes it doesn't. Some eat in basins but look like sticks while some just take the bites but look as if they're going to explode within seconds. Why do you want to kill yourself fornothing? It might not be your turn today doesn't mean that your turn will never come...God knows how He does it. G
ACN is a shame to this country! Can't they ever keep quiet when not knowing what to say? All those criticising President Goodluck Jonathan for declaring a state of emergency in the volatile states of Borno, Yobe and Adamawa are real enemies of this country. It's very sad and unfortunate that these disgruntled people would do nothing to help proffer solution to the insecurity problems rocking the northern parts of the country butto sit down and attack and criticise destructively the administration of his presidency with no just justification. If he does this, they'd attack; does that, they'd criticise and when he doesn't, yet this bunch of confusionists would still find something to condemne him. I wonder what then this sect of individuals really wants for Nigeria!
Following the directives by His Excellency, the Commander-in- Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Goodluck Jonathan, that all the detained women in connection with terrorist charges be released in furtherance of the Federal Government of Nigeria position in response to requests by its Presidential Committee on Dialogue and Reconciliation, the Defence Headquarters has kick-started the process of releasing of a number of persons being held in -related to terrorist activities across the northern part of the country. According to the Director of Defense Communication, Brig. Gen Chris Olukolade, thePresident's directives have been passed to the field units and the Joint Task Force. The suspected terrorists will be released to their states governors who will further carry out rehabilitation programmes before these suspected terrorists can be released to their respective community leaders and relations. Here is Gen Chris Olukolade's full statement: “Consequent upon the directives of the President, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Nigeria, the Defence Headquarters will be releasing from detention a number of persons being held in connection with terrorist activities. “The move is in furtherance of the Federal Government position in response to requests by the Presidential Committee on Dialogue and Reconciliation. The measure which is in line with Presidential magnanimity to enhance peace efforts in the country will result in freedom for suspects including all women under custody.” The Defence spokesman added: “Details of the directives and those to benefit from this gesture have been communicated to field units and the Joint Task Force. “The beneficiaries will be released to the state governors who will be involved in further rehabilitation before these suspects are released to their respective community leaders/relations.” What do you make of this development? Would the government's dual or double-approach stance on its pursuit against terrorism enhance the amnesty programme it embarks upon and proffer a lasting solution to the insecurity challenges facing the country? Is this a step in the right direction?
